Manvinder Dhak is a filmmaker, composer, and music producer based in British Columbia. Working as a cinematographer, editor, sound designer, and composer, his work has screened internationally and aired on national broadcast platforms including CBC and TELUS.

Producing music under the artist name EMPWER, he has collaborated with artists globally and composed scores for documentary and television projects that were nationally broadcasted and screened internationally.

Producing under the artist and composer moniker EMPWER (pronounced Empower), he has produced multiple albums, collaborated with recording artists around the world, composed original scores for film and television.

His music has featured in nationally broadcast CBC & TELUS programming in Canada, including scoring feature-length documentaries and securing sync placements in episodic television, as well as being featured on Bobby Frictions BBC Radio one radio show.

Rooted in his upbringing as a Punjabi speaking Canadian, Manvinder’s musical identity was shaped by the storytelling traditions and melodic richness of Punjabi folk music & culture alongside the rhythm, groove and sonic intensity of hip-hop and electronic dance music.
